Trojans win twice, Thunder earn three of four points on the weekend

A huge weekend for the Tisdale Trojans.

They beat the second-place Moose Jaw Winmar Warriors twice over the weekend.

Tisdale won 1-0 in a shootout on Saturday.

Wyatt Fleischhacker stopped 34 shots to shut out Moose Jaw, while Kash Elke scored the winner as the 14th shooter in the shootout.

It was a huge rally for the Trojans on Sunday, as they beat the Warriors 7-6 in a shootout.

Camryn Aebig scored twice in regulation, with other goals from Parker Salisbury, Ramy Borowsky, Oliver Homstol, and Carter Hudyma.

Aebig’s goals came with less than three minutes left to tie the game as the Trojans had an empty net.

Aebig also scored the shootout winner, with Jacob Tait sealing the game with his goal.

Tisdale is now 15-16-1-0, and they will host Warman on Wednesday.

The Carrot River Outback Thunder split their games over the weekend in the PJHL.

The Thunder opened with a 7-2 victory over the now 0-29-0-0 Regina Silver Foxes.

Dawson Malinowski scored twice for Carrot River, with Kaleb Zacher, Dylon Clarke, Jaylen Knelsen, Chase Taylor, and Kieran Hardie also finding the back of the net.

Hunter Nakonechny made 27 saves in net.

Fort Knox beat Carrot River 4-3 in overtime on Sunday.

Fort Knox had a 3-0 lead after one period before Nolan Holmen, Jaylen Knelsen, and Gavin Bodnarchuk sent the game to overtime.

Nakonechny stopped 40 shots for the Thunder, who are now 11-17-0-2.

The Thunder face Martensville and Fort Knox this weekend.
