Thunder, Wolfpack each 1-1 this weekend

The Carrot River Outback Thunder split their games on the weekend.

They dropped a 2-1 decision in Martensville on Saturday.

Nolan Holmen scored the Thunder goal, and Dominic Smith stopped 40 shots.

On Sunday, the Thunder beat Fort Knox 3-2.

Carrot River scored three second-period goals to overcome a 2-0 deficit.

Chase Sylvestre, Lukas Tuplin, and Jaylen Knelsen scored for the Thunder.

Hunter Nakonechny made 38 saves as the Thunder move to 12-18-0-2 on the season.

Carrot River will host the Saskatoon Royals Tuesday night at 8 p.m., in a game rescheduled from Dec. 20.

The North East U18 AA Wolfpack were also 1-1 this weekend.

They fell behind 2-0 but rallied for a 4-3 overtime win over the Parkland Elks Saturday night.

Hazen Larson scored twice for the Wolfpack.

Zack Kirkland made it 3-2, but Parkland tied it up before Ethan Janzen’s OT winner sealed the victory.

John Gall made 50 saves for the Wolfpack.

The Saskatoon Riverkings blanked North East 4-0 on Sunday.

The Wolfpack are now 7-14-1-0, and they will have games Saturday against the Saskatoon Crunch, and Sunday in PA.
