Patients in three local communities will have easier access to booking lab appointments.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has announced an expansion of its Patient Booking system for lab appointments to book blood and urine collection, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and glucose tolerance testing online.

The latest communities to have access to the Patient Booking System are Nipawin, Melfort, and Tisdale.

Booking opened in Nipawin on Wednesday, Jan. 21. They will open in Melfort and Tisdale Jan. 28, with appointments available in each community starting one week later.

The SHA said in a news release that its online booking system is the fastest way to book a lab appointment and is available at all times.

To book an appointment using the online system, you need a valid health card and a phone number or email address to receive notifications.

If you don’t see a desired appointment type or location, or if you need further assistance, you can call the Patient Booking System Call Centre Monday through Friday at 1-833-727-5829.

Walk-in appointments remain available at all SHA testing locations.
