Elder injured during car jacking south of Prince Albert

The Chief of Muskoday First Nation is confirming an Elder from the community was injured as a result of a car jacking that occurred near the community on Saturday.

Ron Bear said she was transported to the hospital with undetermined non-life threatening injuries.

The incident occurred at approximately 4p.m. on highway 3 between Muskoday First Nation and Birch Hills.

The victim was initially forced off to the side of the highway by unknown occupants of another vehicle. Upon stopping her vehicle, the Elder was approached by a male suspect and pulled out of her vehicle and assaulted by being thrown to the pavement.

The suspects then proceeded to steal the Elders vehicle she was driving, leaving the vehicle they were driving at the crime scene.

The vehicle that was stolen is a Black Ford Edge with the license plate number 650-KEU.

According to a social media post by the woman’s daughter, the woman has a huge bump on her head and hurt her back.

The RCMP are calling this an isolated criminal incident. Although, they are cautioning the public to always be vigilant when driving or encountering other vehicles and people on the roadways.

This incident is an ongoing criminal investigation. The RCMP continue to search for perpetrators to this crime and are attempting to locate the victim’s stolen vehicle.
