Local clubs represented at Saskatoon Provincial Judo Tournament

The Saskatoon Judo Club hosted a Judo Saskatchewan provincial competition over the weekend at Nutana College. 

Eleven different clubs were represented, and 209 athletes participated. 

That included athletes from Melfort, Battleford, and Lloydminster. 

In U10 Ne Waza – Pool 1, Mila Beausoleil of Lloydminster took the gold.  

Eli Wood of Melfort won gold in U12 Male Ne Waza – Pool 1. 

Melfort’s Cade Phillips took gold in Pool 2, while Nicholas Francais of Battleford won a gold medal in Pool 3. 

Bo and Bus Bullerwell of Battleford each won gold in Pool 5, while Thomas Nelson of Battleford and Melfort’s George Trawin took gold in Pool 6. 

In U14 Male Ne Waza Novice –35 kg., Brolin Willetts of Lloydminster took silver, and Jonah Wood of Melfort won silver in the -42 kg. category. 

In the -55 kg. division, gold went to Levi Schwartz of Lloydminster, and silver was won by Omar Alidrissi of Melfort. 

David Torresan of Lloydminster won bronze in the -64 kg. division. 

Beau Torresan of Lloydminster took silver, and bronze was won by Oli Bullerwell in the 64+kg. category. 

In the U16 Male Ne Waza –52/-57 kg. division, Silvan Raess of Battleford claimed bronze. 

Logan Lofstrom of Lloydminster won the gold in the Senior Male Ne Waza +81 kg. category. 

Mika Ferguson from Lloydminster took bronze in the U12 Female – Tachi Waza – Pool 2. 

Melfort’s Eli Wood took silver in the U12 Male – Tachi Waza – Pool 1. 

Cade Phillips of Melfort won gold in Pool 2, while Nicholas Francais of Battleford was a silver medal winner in Pool 3. 

In Pool 6, Bo Bullerwell of Battleford won gold, Melfort’s George Trawin the silver, and Gus Bullerwell the bronze. 

Thomas Nelson of Battleford took silver in Pool 7. 

In U16 Female – Tachi Waza – 44 kg., silver went to Theia Mayoh-Bauche, while Silvan Raess of Battleford took silver in 46 kg. 

In +73 kg., Beau Torresan of Lloydminster won gold, while Blair Dmytrow of Melfort won gold in Senior Male – Tachi Waza – 73 kg. 

Riley Phillips of Melfort was a silver medalist in Senior Male – Tachi Waza –90/-100kg. 

The silver medalist in U14 Female – Tachi Waza – +63 kg. was Charlotte Nelson of Battleford. 

Brolin Willetts of Lloydminster took silver in U14 Male – Tachi Waza – 35 kg. 

In –38kg., William Jenkins of Lloydminster won a silver medal. 

Melfort’s Omar Alidrissi won a gold medal in U14 Male – Tachi Waza – -50/-55 kg., while Levi Schwartz took bronze. 

Theia Mayoh-Bauche of Battleford won silver in U16 Female – Tachi Waza –44kg. 

In the U16 Male – Tachi Waza –46kg. division, Silvan Raess of Battlefords won silver. 

Beau Torresan of Lloydminster took gold in the U16 Male – Tachi Waza +73kg. category. 

Melfort’s Blair Dmytrow won gold in the Senior Male – Tachi Waza –73 kg. division. 

In the Senior Male – Tachi Waza –90/-100 kg. division, Riley Phillips of Melfort won silver. 

Logan Lofstrom of Lloydminster took silver in the +100 kg. Division. 

Judo Saskatchewan athletes will head to the Edmonton International Tournament March 6-8, while the next in-province competition is coming to Melfort March 28-29.
