Feb 10, 2026 | 1:14 PM

Saskatchewan RCMP have confirmed they are seeking two suspects, following a flight from police and car jacking that occurred Saturday afternoon south of Prince Albert.

Following a report of a suspicious truck on Fenton Ferry Road, members of the Prince Albert and Melfort detachments began patrolling the area

Around 4 p.m., a truck matching the suspicious vehicle’s description was located in Birch Hills. Officers activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop. The truck did not stop for police and fled north on Highway 3.

Shortly after, Prince Albert RCMP observed a truck matching the suspicious vehicle’s description pass them at a high rate of speed on the highway.

The truck then stopped in the middle of the road, blocking an oncoming SUV. As officers were approaching the scene in their police vehicle, a male and a female got out of the truck and forcefully removed the driver of the SUV from their vehicle.

The male and a female then got into the SUV and fled at a high rate of speed, heading south towards Birch Hills. The victim was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.

As was first reported by paNOW, the victim is an Elder from Muskoday First Nation. Family members have confirmed for paNOW she was treated and released.

On February 8, the stolen SUV was located abandoned near MacDowall. The SUV was recovered by Prince Albert RCMP.

Prince Albert RCMP continue to investigate and are asking the public for their assistance. Anyone with information is encouraged to call RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
