Potential playoff spot on the line

Trojans face must-win in regular season finale tonight

Feb 23, 2026 | 9:47 AM

It all comes down to this.

The Tisdale Trojans face the Prince Albert Mintos tonight in their final regular season game, rescheduled after last week’s storm.

The Trojans are two points back of the Saskatoon Contacts for the final playoff spot.

The Contacts failed to clinch that spot after a 3-2 loss to Notre Dame to close out their regular season.

If the Trojans win, the two teams will remain tied, and according to the Saskatchewan Male AAA website that “would lead to a cascade of tiebreaker formulas.”

Tisdale and the Contacts split their games during the regular season.

Puck drop at the RECplex is at 8 p.m.

Three AAA playoff series are set.

The number two seed Moose Jaw Warriors will take on seventh-seeded Battlefords.

The Saskatoon Blazers will battle Warman in the three versus six series.

Swift Current faces Estevan in the four/five series.

The Trojans or Contacts will face the top-seeded Regina Pat Canadians in their playoff series.

The North East AA Wolfpack split their weekend games.

They started with a 4-2 win over Parkland on Saturday.

Ethan Janzen, Hayle Dennis, Zack Kirkland, and Taylor Coleman scored for North East, while John Gall made 35 saves.

The Wolfpack fell 9-3 to the Saskatoon Screaming Eagles at the Palace in Melfort Sunday afternoon.

Ethan Janzen, Taylor Coleman, and Blake Partyka had the goals for the Wolfpack, who will host the Humboldt Broncos Wednesday at the Palace to close out their season.
