Feb 24, 2026 | 9:46 AM

The Melfort Mustangs look to make it nine wins in a row tonight as they host the Weyburn Red Wings at the Northern Lights Palace.

The Mustangs are now 24-20-2-2, and have stormed back into sixth place in the SJHL.

Melfort is coming off a weekend sweep of the La Ronge Ice Wolves, winning 6-1 at home on Friday and a 5-3 victory on the road Saturday night.

The Mustangs also had two players on the SJHL Players of the Week list, released on Monday.

Drew Mushumanski is the Bourgault Forward of the Week thanks to his five points in their two games, while teammate Bo Eisner is the SuperU Defenceman of the Week, with four points in those games.

Meanwhile, the Red Wings are on a two-game winning streak of their own.

They are in fifth place in the SJHL standings, just two points back of first-place Yorkton in the Bunge Division.

The Red Wings has won two of three games between the squads so far this season, but Melfort beat Weyburn 3-2 on the road in their last game in January.

Weyburn took the other two, 5-4 and 4-2.

Puck drop at the Northern Lights Palace is at 7:30 p.m.
