North East AA Wolfpack wins to close out season

The North East AA Wolfpack season has wrapped up with a victory. 

They defeated the Humboldt Broncos 7-6 in an overtime thriller at the Northern Lights Palace in Melfort. 

Humboldt led 2-0 after one period, but Ethan Janzen and Hayle Dennis scored to tie the game. 

The Broncos closed out the second period with a 4-2 lead after two straight goals. 

Hazen Larson, Nixon Coleman, and Blake Partyka scored in the third to take the Wolfpack to a 5-4 lead.

After a Humboldt goal, Jonas Markwart scored to renew North East’s one-goal lead; however, the Broncos tied the game at 6 with 32 seconds remaining in regulation. 

Hayle Dennis was the overtime hero, scoring his second of the game and 22nd of the season to send the crowd home happy. 

John Gall made 31 saves for the Wolfpack, who ended the season with a 9-20-0-1 record.
