Prince Albert woman dies in collision with semi near Smeaton

A 36-year-old Prince Albert woman was killed yesterday when an SUV she was a passenger in collided with a semi-truck.  

Nipawin RCMP, Fire and EMS were called to Highway 106 about 40 kilometres north of Smeaton at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.  

The woman was declared dead at the scene and a second passenger in the SUV was transported by STARS with non-life-threatening injuries.  

The driver and a third passenger were taken to hospital by EMS, also with injuries described as not life-threatening.  

The driver of the semi did not report any injuries.

Nipawin RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist. 

Saskatchewan Highway Patrol officers with the Provincial Protective Services Branch assisted in the response to the collision.
