Former school bus driver facing sex charges has trial date set
A former North East School Division bus driver relieved of his duties has had his court date set.
The 55-year-old was charged last March with one count of sexual assault, one count of sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age, and a third count of sexual touching of a person who has a mental or physical disability that is in a relationship of dependency.
At an appearance in Melfort Provincial Court on Monday, his trial date was set for July 7.
A parent alerted northeastNOW to the incident after the division sent a letter saying a bus driver had been relieved of his duties.
