Porcupine Plain’s Smith sets Silvertips record

A Porcupine Plain native has hit the Western Hockey League’s record books. 

Tarin Smith is now the leading scorer amongst defencemen in Everett Silvertips history. 

The 19-year-old has 175 points in his Silvertips career, with 41 goals and 134 assists. 

He has 16 goals and 54 assists in the 2025-26 campaign for the juggernaut Silvertips, who are 56-7-2-1 on the season. 

Smith was a 3rd round pick, 89th overall, by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
