The centre will employ roughly eight to 10 people and is set to serve children from the age of just six weeks old up to those in Kindergarten.

It will also provide the opportunity for local high school students to earn credits and go through ECE (Early Childhood Education) courses while working at the centre.

“I think we’re hoping to create a safe, welcoming, happy place for children, parents, and our employees. We want it to continue to be very much a community venture, so as much as we can give back to the community, we will. That’s going to be the goal of the center in general, and to just keep building our small community,” Seaman added.

“We’re all very excited. I think literal blood, sweat, and tears have gone into the last few months, just getting everything ready to go. Even just watching how excited my kids are being in the center and giving them the space to socialize along with lots of the other kids in the community that they haven’t really been exposed to before, it’s just very exciting in general, and I hope the community feels the same.”

The centre has been licensed for 36 spots, with just four spots currently remaining. It will run from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. and will support the $ 10-a-day daycare, after receiving the Space Development Capital Funding and Startup grant.

“The calibre of the space that we’ve been able to put up, especially as a brand new building, we wouldn’t have been able to do that without the grant,” concluded Seaman.
