It is with great sadness that the family of Ken Baptist announce his passing on June 19, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer.
Ken was born on April 26th, 1963 to Clifford and Edith Baptist. He was the youngest of five children. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in Star City. He worked at various jobs until obtaining his Journeyman Plumber ticket.
Ken married Vicki Ross on October 27th, 1984 and they were blessed with three children; Justin, Travis, and Amanda.
Ken loved to gather with friends and family around the firepit or around the table playing games and sipping a cold Pilsner. He took great pride in his workmanship and invested many hours on his house, yard, and garden. The Toronto Maple Leafs were his team and he spent many winter evenings cheering them on or cussing them out.
Ken is survived by his mother, Edith Baptist; his sisters, Colleen (Cam) and Bonnie (Greg); his children – Justin (Melanie), Travis (Marissa), and Amanda (Kevin); his grandchildren Samantha (Nicholas), Andrew (Kelli), Jesse, Dustin, and William and great grandchildren Jade, Maxon, Bailey, Leanna, and Hanna; and many special nieces and nephews.
Ken also leaves behind many friends who will miss him, his sense of humor, and the cold Pilsner he was always ready to share.
He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Jaqueline, his father Clifford and brothers: Glen and Lyle.
Ken’s family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to his friends, neighbors, co-workers and healthcare staff for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion.
Ken’s life will be celebrated by close friends and family in a private service, and interment will take place at a later date in the Star City Cemetery.
