It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel  Anthony Zubiak of Kinsitino, Saskatchewan. On June 19, 2024,  Samuel (Sam) passed away suddenly at the age of 71.

Sam was born on May 25, 1953 to Mike an Helen Zubiak from  Vermilion, AB. Sam grew up in Star City then moved to Melfort, SK and lived with Wayne and Rosalie Dagg.

Sam met Debbie in junior high and they were married in Melfort on September 1, 1973. Shortly after, they moved to Edmonton, AB where Sam started working for Edmonton Telephones, which later became TELUS, where he retired after 35 years.

They had three children Shauna, Carrie and Brett and settled in Stony Plain, AB where they lived until 2017. They then moved to   Kinistino, SK and have been enjoying country living since.

For many years Sam enjoyed pony and chuckwagon racing with all of his family members. He was very involved with and loved watching sports, especially Brett’s hockey, and then eventually his grandkids. He would attend many motocross racing events, cattle shows, and sporting events to watch all of his grandchildren.

Spending time camping, boating, and dancing to country music around the fire with family and good friends were some of the many things Sam enjoyed.

In more recent years, Sam got quite comfortable with the farm life and was a huge help during seeding and harvest. He also loved his many trips to Mexico with family.

In addition to his family, he had a love for garden gnomes, bird watching, and his many dogs.

Sam passed suddenly doing something he loved, being in nature cutting firewood.

He leaves behind his wife Debbie of 50 years, daughters: Shauna St. Denis, Carrie (Mike) Porter, son Brett (Marla) Zubiak.  Grandchildren: Jordan (Beth), Landin (Hannah and Izaac), Logan St. Denis; Rebecca and Tyson Porter; Nash and Gwen Zubiak. Brother Dave Zubiak (Freddie); sisters: Shelly (Grant) Profit and Glenda (Darcy) Money; nieces: Charleigh (Colt), Calie (Dayton), and Celee-Rae (Brad).  Sister-in-law Sandy (Russ) Smith and many loving family members.

Predeceased by his parents Mike and Helen Zubiak, brothers: Phil and Jack Zubiak. Wayne and Rosalie Dagg. Mother-in-law Betty Robinson.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at the Porter Zubiak Farm (SE 17-45-21-W2).
