The unofficial start to the Melfort fair weekend was held Friday morning.

The Melfort Trade Alliance Chamber of Commerce held the 2024 Melfort Parade.

The route took the parade down Bemister Ave. E., north on Brunswick St., to Park Ave., west to Main St., ending on Burrows Ave.

The parade featured a mix of agricultural floats, horses, service club entries, various local businesses and non-profit groups, and much more.

CJVR, Beach Radio and northeastNOW were represented in the parade by play-by-play voice Ben Tompkins in the northeastNOW vehicle, and CJVR morning show host Gabby Shukin in the Beach Radio Dodge Nitro.

The parade is traditionally held the Friday morning of the exhibition weekend, organized by the Melfort Ag Society.

The exhibition is held at the Melfort Exhibition Grounds Friday through Sunday.
