It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bill Koroluk on October 8, 2024.

Bill is survived by daughters: Karen (Steve) and Janice (Bruce); six granddaughters: Jill, Beth, Lauren, Alexandra, Devon, Claire and their partners and his sister Helen. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce and brothers: John, Tony and Peter.

In his early years, Bill worked as a Medical Lab Technician and later pursued a career as a Public Health Inspector.   He settled in Melfort with his wife, Joyce and two daughters.

Bill had a passion for anything old and was a ‘Mister Fix It’ extraordinaire.  He eagerly restored antique furniture, taking great pleasure in attending auction sales and getting a good deal.  Many hours were spent acquiring and restoring antique cars, and he was particularly proud of his 1931 Model A Roadster Deluxe which was restored to perfection.

Bill was a founding member of the Melfort & District Museum.  In addition to his interest in community history, he built a clay oven on site and took pride in baking hundreds of loaves of bread over the years.  He was the keeper of knowledge, actively maintaining connections with family members, always interested in their stories and telling his own.  Bill was soft hearted and kind and a true gentleman. He shared his love and his wisdom with many.

We would like to thank the staff and residents of the Red Deer Nursing Home in Porcupine Plain for their care of our Dad. It was a happy and supportive home for him.

A Service Celebrating Bill’s life will be held from the Melfort United Church, Melfort, SK on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM.  The interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Friends so wishing may make memorial contributions to the Melfort & District Museum, Doctors Without Borders, or to the Melfort United Church.
