New and familiar faces elected during municipal election in Northeast communities

More results have been released from Wednesday night’s municipal election.

HUDSON BAY:

In Hudson Bay, incumbent councillor Brent Dyck had the most votes with 380.

Dean Hanson will be on council, garnering 352 votes with Tim Bank receiving 347. Both will be newcomers on council.

Incumbents Kelly Stonehouse had 302 votes, Sherry Pilon received 282, and Meagan Dickson had 271.

Betty Lou Palko was acclaimed as mayor in Hudson Bay.

KINISTINO:

Incumbent councillors Andrew Helm and Steven Jack each received 102 votes to return to council.

Joining them will be incumbents Brennen Smith with 98 votes, Jadie Porter with 83, and Gina Klamot with 76, while Shawn Vereschagin was also elected with 77 votes.

Mayor Mark Powalinsky was re-elected by acclamation.

PORCUPINE PLAIN:

Three incumbent councillors will be back on council for the next four years in Porcupine Plain.

Craig Kriger received 153 votes, Bob Nicholson had 148, and Karen Wick 140 as the three make their return.

Joining them will be Brock Riley, who received 142 votes, Darwin Thorpe with 119 votes, and Darin Derenowski with 117.

Nick Wood was acclaimed as mayor.
