Melfort Mustangs second ranked team in Canada for second-straight week

The Melfort Mustangs remain the second-ranked team in the nation.

Melfort is ranked number two in the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s weekly top 20 rankings.

The Mustangs saw their 17-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday, but bounced back with a 5-1 win over Yorkton on Saturday after their game Friday night against La Ronge was postponed.

Melfort is 29-5 on the season.

They will host Kindersley on Wednesday and head to Yorkton to face the Terriers on Friday.

The top-ranked team remains the Greater Sudbury Cubs amid their 17-game winning streak.

The Flin Flon Bombers inched their way into the rankings and sit at number 19 after being an honourable mention last week.

The Weyburn Red Wings are an honourable mention this week.
