Seized moose meat taken to Humboldt food bank

Patrons of the Humboldt Food Bank have a welcome bonus in the form of 150 pounds of moose meat.

The meat was delivered to the food bank by conservation officers on February 12, who had seized it from the person who harvested it illegally.

The Province of Saskatchewan said that it is their policy whenever they seize illegally hunted game meat to donate it to food banks or local First Nations where it is put to good use.

Officers first had it tested for chronic wasting disease, which was negative, then took it to Lake Lenore Meats who donated their time and effort to process the meat into hamburger.
