Nellie was born February 15, 1930 to Steve and Frances Hardy. She was raised on a farm near Lac Vert where she graduated and went on to become a teacher.

She married her sweetheart, Ken McLaren in 1952 and together they raised four children. Nellie loved the farm and worked alongside Ken until they retired to Lac Vert. She was known for her beautiful yard and garden. She was an amazing cook and all were welcome at her table.

Nellie will be fondly remembered for her faith and deep love for her family.

She passed away on October 24, 2025 at the age of 95 years.

Nellie leaves to cherish her memory her children Gary (Patty), Gail, Vera (Rick), Vern (Arma Jean); 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren. Nellie is survived by her two sisters: Edna Stewart and Tony Woolsey.

Nellie was predeceased by her husband Ken; parents: Steve and France; her twin sister Stella; brothers: Ken and Bill; 2 infant siblings; her son-in-law Don Drinkwater and grandson Chad Hanson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Lac Vert Community Hall, Lac Vert, SK.
