Appreciation Night

Tisdale celebrates local achievements

Nov 21, 2025 | 12:16 PM

The Town of Tisdale hosted its 45th annual appreciation night on Thursday.

There, numerous community members were recognized for their achievements during the last year.

“I think the importance in a small town, is to just recognize all the talent we have here and all the commitment that’s put in for our town to be successful,” explained Director of Recreation and Parks Stacy Thiessen.

“These people here, just how hard they try and the effort they put in, ultimately, everyone just wants to see our community thrive. I think we only have 3,000 people in Tisdale, but what you see here tonight just makes it pretty evident of the talent we have here and how lucky we are.”

The awards ranged from provincial and national recognition, including gold medals in softball, wakeboarding, football, dance, gymnastics, and figure skating.

It also featured a Service Club Award and a Volunteer of the Year.

“Thank you to the Town of Tisdale and everyone in it, because it truly is a wonderful place to live, and everything that everyone does for the community does not go unnoticed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone in the community,” Thiessen added.

“The fact that this event has been going on for 45 years is crazy. I’m just amazed by what a small community can accomplish.”
