Mustangs lose big in dirty battle with Flin Flon

Nov 22, 2025 | 6:39 PM

There were plenty of goals and plenty of penalty minutes on Friday night between the Melfort Mustangs and the Flin Flon Bombers.

A bit of a lopsided game and dirty hits eventually led to a line brawl between the two clubs in the third period.

In total, there were nine misconduct penalties, two major penalties, and one match penalty, as the two teams combined for 157 penalty minutes and 14 power plays.

Ultimately, it was the Bombers who came out on top in the tilt, 8-3, which featured six different power play markers.

Melfort is now 0 and 3 against Flin Flon this season, as they hope not to make it 0 and 4 Saturday at home.

This evening’s contest will wrap up the home-and-home set between the two division rivals.

Only one suspension was handed out in Friday’s contest, as Mustangs forward Logan Peskett will now be out for the next three games, due to a match penalty for checking to the head.

Saturday’s meeting will begin with a 7:30 p.m. puck drop at the Northern Lights Palace.
