Busy weekend for Trojans, Thunder, Wolfpack

The Tisdale Trojans fell twice on the weekend in Regina in Saskatchewan Male AAA action.

Tisdale led 4-2 after two but couldn’t hang on as they lost 6-4 on Saturday.

Jacob Tait scored twice, with Dryden Ekstrom and Preston Hoppe also scoring for the Trojans.

Jackson Dunn stopped 38 shots for Tisdale.

The Pat C’s doubled up the Trojans 6-3 on Sunday.

Logan Edwards, Parker Salisbury, and Ramy Borowsky had the goals for Tisdale.

Wyatt Fleischhacker made 35 stops for the Trojans, who fell to 7-11-1 on the season.

They will host Estevan on Wednesday.

In the PJHL, the Carrot River Outback Thunder won two of three games on the weekend.

They started with a 6-3 victory over the Prince Albert Timberjacks on Friday.

Cobe Prince, Chase Taylor, Cooper Wallington, Gavin Bodnarchuk, Dylon Clarke, and Lukas Tuplin scored for the Thunder, and Hunter Nakonechny earned the win, making 33 saves.

The Richardson Pioneer Southern Rebels dumped the Thunder 6-3 on Saturday.

Carrot River got goals from Dylon Clarke, Dawson Malinowski, and Nolan Holmen, while Nakonechny was busy in net, stopping 43 of 49 shots.

The Thunder bounced back with a 3-1 victory over the Regina Silver Foxes on Sunday.

Gavin Bodnarchuk scored twice for Carrot River, and Dylon Clarke had the other goal.

Dominic Smith made 25 saves in the win, and they improved to 8-8-0-1 on the season.

They will host Moosomin on Friday.

The North East AA Wolfpack went 1-3 at the Western Canada Showdown.

They fell 7-2 to the South Zone Knights to open the event.

Sean Mazurek and Ryder Bleile scored for the Wolfpack in that contest, while John Gall made 28 saves.

North East then beat the Spokane Jr. Chiefs 7-4.

Nixon Coleman, Sean Mazurek, and Taylor Coleman all scored twice for the Wolfpack, and Jonas Markwart added a single.

Kane Huston stopped 34 shots in the win.

The Wolfpack were then blanked 10-0 by the Upper York Admirals, then fell 3-1 to CNHA Black.

Hayle Dennis scored the lone Wolfpack goal, and Kane Huston saved 32 shots.
