Weldon man faces multiple charges

Tisdale youths threatened with gun during car jacking: RCMP

A terrifying incident for two youths in Tisdale. 

RCMP have charged a man for threatening the two youths with a gun and stealing their vehicle with them still inside. 

The incident happened Thursday night. 

Two youths were parked in a vehicle when a man entered with a gun pointed at them. 

He drove around the Tisdale area, forcing the two to remain inside the vehicle. 

About two hours later, the man let the youths out of the vehicle near Tisdale, and neither were injured. 

RCMP then spotted the vehicle soon after on 101st. Ave. in Tisdale, and officers arrested the man without incident. 

A search of the vehicle turned up a firearm, a knife, and a face covering. 

The man had warrants from Melfort RCMP and Saskatoon Police Service. 

44-year-old Gary Hill of Weldon has been charged with: 

•             one count, robbery with firearm 

•             one count, kidnapping 

•             one count, pointing a firearm 

•             one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose 

•             one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm 

•             one count possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized 

•             one count, using firearm in commission of offence 

•             one count, unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle 

•             one count, possession of break-in instrument 

•             three counts, fail to comply probation order 

•             two counts, fail to comply with release order condition 

•             one count, weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization 

He will remain in custody until his next court appearance on March 19 in Melfort Provincial Court.
