Tisdale carjacking case in provincial court in Melfort

A man charged after two youths were carjacked in Tisdale will have his case back in court later this month. 

Forty-four-year-old Gary Hill of Weldon was remanded into custody after his arrest March 12. 

The case was in Melfort Provincial Court on Thursday and will be back in court March 30. 

Tisdale RCMP were called about an armed man threatening two youths and stealing their vehicle with them still inside. 

The driver drove around the Tisdale area and later dropped the youths off without injury.

The suspect was arrested soon after, when RCMP spotted the stolen vehicle parked in Tisdale. 

RCMP did not release any details about the youth victims “to be mindful of their privacy and well-being, as well as to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.”
