Charges laid after rollover in Codette area

A woman faces multiple drug and weapons charges after a rollover near Codette. 

Nipawin RCMP were called to the scene of the crash March 24. 

The investigation determined a man and woman were in the vehicle when it rolled, and the man left the scene. 

The woman was there when police arrived and she didn’t report any injuries. 

Officers found a sawed-off firearm, a loaded handgun, and about 14 grams of methamphetamine, 15 grams of fentanyl, and 149 unknown pills.

Forty-five-year-old Genevieve McKay faces 14 charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking meth and fentanyl and firearm possession. 

She is due to appear in court April 2. 

RCMP are still seeking the male that left the scene, and anyone with information can call 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
