According to his team, McKinnon “has volunteered extensively with the U13 Ice Wolves, assisted at both local elementary schools, and worked as an Educational Assistant at Pre-Cam. Known for his thoughtful and intentional approach, he has built meaningful relationships throughout the community, serving as both a role model and mentor. His commitment even extends beyond La Ronge, as he has also worked with young players in Saskatoon, sharing his experience and emphasizing the importance of mindset and personal growth in his hometown.”

As for Miller, who joined the Flin Flon Bombers at the deadline following two-and-a-half seasons with the Broncos (after being named as their ambassador), had his $1,000 donation benefit St. Augustine School in Humboldt.

According to the club, Miller “became a cornerstone of community engagement, volunteering with local schools, the Humboldt Soup Kitchen, senior homes, and a wide range of community events. His positive attitude and genuine care for others left a lasting impression.”

He also “demonstrated exceptional leadership through his involvement in the Broncos’ Movember campaign, where he emerged as the SJHL’s top fundraiser, raising awareness and support for men’s health initiatives. His character, leadership, and commitment to service have made him a standout representative of both his team and the league.”

The other nine representatives in the SJHL who fell just short of being finalists included: Eric Marks – Battlefords North Stars, Rorey Elson – Estevan Bruins, Pierce Yakimchuk – Flin Flon Bombers, Stein Dostal – Kindersley Klippers, Austin Shepherd – Melfort Mustangs, Matty Edwards – Melville Millionaires, Ashton Tait – Nipawin Hawks, Pherson Loehndorf – Warman Wolverines, and Drew Molde – Weyburn Red Wings.
