Donna Mary Magee

June 30, 1936 – March 21, 2026

 

Donna was born on June 30, 1936 in Elgin, Manitoba. She was the youngest of 5 children to John and Debbie Whitten, Irish immigrants who had come to Canada in 1925.

In her early 20s, Donna married Calvin Magee from nearby Souris, Manitoba. Calvin’s employment in the grain business saw her family move to various towns across Manitoba and Saskatchewan with their final stop being in Melfort in 1977.

Donna worked for several years at the Heritage Inn. Some of Donna’s interests were watching curling (cheering on Manitoba and Saskatchewan). She was also a big fan of the Melfort Mustangs Hockey Team, for which she had season tickets for over 30 years.

Donna was predeceased by her parents John and Debbie; her husband Calvin; brothers Oswald and Bob (Sylvia); sister Vera (Bill); daughter-in-law Rayleen; niece Debbie; and numerous in-laws.

Donna is survived by her sons Gordon, Ian (Rhonda); Kelly (Charlene); brother-in-law Russ; grandsons Travis (Amy), Riley (Czarina); great-grandsons Callan, Ryne, and Rowan; and her brother Wally.

A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Fedusiak Funeral Chapel (306 Saskatchewan Drive West, Melfort, SK)

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society or Chateau Providence Long Term Care Home in St. Brieux, SK. Arrangements entrusted to Fedusiak Funeral Chapel & Crematorium (306)752-3838.
