Ripley Rumble back for second year

Apr 15, 2026 | 5:09 PM

The Ripley Rumble is back for a second year.

The PBR event, which came to Melfort last May, will once again grace the northeast next month.

“I think there were a lot of questions last year, especially because we put it on in a short period of time, but to see how the community came together was amazing. We had the opportunity to put on a safe, fun and good event, and were able to give away a bunch of money, so there was no question that we wanted to do it again,” explained Ripley Ford owner, Mark Ripley.

“Everybody back in the city has been super supportive and excited, and we’ve had a lot of people asking about it before we even made it official. I think it’s an important event now for the community, so we’re just super excited to be able to put it on again.”

Last year, the professional bull riding event was the first of its kind in Melfort, and raised enough money for Ripley Ford to be able to dole out three separate $20K cheques to community organizations.

The plan this year is to donate again, this time to different organizations.

Other than that change, the event will stay mostly the same, with a few more tickets sold, but most of the same riders coming back.

“They’re excited to come back, I think they really like this area and the little boutique style, once in a while. Some big stadiums may not feel quite as intimate, so they really loved our venue, and the crowd was great,” Ripley added.

As of earlier this week, the event is already over 50 per cent sold out, and will take place on Friday, May 22.
