High water level warning stretches from Meadow Lake to La Ronge, Nipawin, Melfort and P.A.
Warm temperatures early this week could lead to high water levels on rivers across northern and central Saskatchewan; the Water Security Agency (WSA) is warning.
From Buffalo Narrows to Yorkton and Lloydminster and Prince Albert, most of the northern half of the province is being warned to be vigilant given warm temperatures for Monday and Tuesday.
An accelerated melt can cause river flows to increase quickly and reach higher levels than forecasted which increases the risk for overland flooding and ice jams.
Tuesday’s temperature is forecast at 15 C but will drop on Wednesday with more snow expected on Wednesday and Thursday.
