Lanigan woman charged after child assaulted with weapon

A disturbing case has emerged from the community of Lanigan. 

Humboldt RCMP were called about an assault at a home in Lanigan on Friday, and the investigation determined that a woman assaulted a child under the age of 12 with a weapon. 

The child was treated for non-life-threatening injuries in the hospital. 

A 49-year-old woman from Lanigan was charged with one count of aggravated assault, and one count of assault with a weapon.
