Investigation after bears, cat shot and killed near Lorenzo

An investigation is underway into the senseless killing of wildlife in the Spiritwood area.

Conservation officers are asking for help in finding the individuals responsible for the killing of bears near Lorenzo, Sask.

Spiritwood conservation officers received information that a black bear sow and cubs had been shot and left to waste.

Officers investigated and found the dead bears along with a domestic cat. 

The bears were found at the entrance to the den they had been using for their hibernation, and officers believe they were shot on the evening of April 19. 

Anyone with information should contact the the provincial toll-free Turn-in-Poachers and Polluters TIPP line. 

Calls are not traced or recorded, and a cash reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the individuals involved.
