Nipawin residents reminded to fill out census forms
The Town of Nipawin wants residents to fill out their census forms.
The national census is being released next week, and Nipawin’s General Manager of Community Services Derek Seckinger told northeastNOW that residents should complete the census form as soon as they receive it, ensuring that everyone in the house is included.
“The process is confidential, straightforward, and critical to capturing an accurate picture of the community,” Seckinger explained. “Even small participation gaps can materially affect results in a community the size of Nipawin; full participation is essential.”
Seckinger said census data affects how much funding a municipality receives and how it plans for the future. The population numbers are used in both provincial and federal funding formulas, and they help support decisions around housing, recreation, healthcare, and economic development.
