Deaths of two men at Humboldt property not suspicious: RCMP

May 8, 2026 | 5:04 PM

RCMP say the deaths of two men at a building in Humboldt on Thursday are not considered suspicious.

The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is engaged and is conducting a coroner’s investigation.

Fire investigators with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency are also investigating the incident.

On May 7, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Humboldt RCMP received a report of two injured persons at the building on 7th Street.

Officers immediately responded, along with fire and EMS. They located two seriously injured men at the scene. They were pronounced deceased by EMS.

“Police do not believe the deaths to be suspicious at this time. As such, we are not releasing any additional information to be mindful of the privacy of those involved.”

The name of the building was not released by the RCMP, but a source close to the incident said it was at the Humboldt Community Gathering Place.

On their social media page, the Gathering Place stated, by order of the fire chief, the wheelchair ramp is closed until further notice.

None of the regular activities have been impacted.

The Community Gathering Place Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides space for member and non-member events.
