A Special Weather Statement has been issued for much of central and southern Saskatchewan, including the Humboldt area.

Environment and Climate Change Canada said a major spring storm with widespread severe winds will affect those areas, beginning Wednesday night.

Southerly winds could gust up to 80 km/h at times, before the wind shifts from the west gusting from 70 to 110 km/h.

The wind is expected to begin in southwest Saskatchewan Wednesday night, expanding to southern and central Saskatchewan by Thursday morning.
