Improvements to a northern Manitoba port
Arctic Gateway Group (AGG) and a North American construction and infrastructure development company have signed an agreement to support infrastructure at the Port of Churchill.
Under the memorandum of understanding, AGG and Aecon Group will explore ways to strengthen Canada’s northern trade corridor and Arctic sovereignty through infrastructure development related to the port.
Aecon and AGG will work together to pursue project opportunities tied to development of the Port of Churchill and Hudson Bay Railway, combining Aecon’s construction and infrastructure experience with AGG’s Indigenous and economic development leadership in northern Canada.
The work will focus on ensuring development of the port and railway maximizes jobs, training and opportunities for Indigenous and northern people and businesses, according to Jean-Louis Servranckx, president and chief executive officer of Aecon Group.
