MFD responds to motorhome fire, crash in Melfort area

The Melfort Fire Department responded to a motorhome fire and two-vehicle crash on Monday. 

They were called to the motorhome fire just southeast of Melfort at suppertime last night, and it was fully engulfed in flames by the time they arrived. 

The driver was able to safely exit the vehicle before crews got there. 

Earlier on Monday, the department was called out to a crash on Highway 41, west of the city. 

A semi and car collided, and crews re-routed traffic while others got the trapped patient out of the vehicle, into the ambulance where they were taken to hospital.

The department said that STARS was originally dispatched but were stood down upon further assessment of the patient.
