A Nipawin man has made his first court appearance after being arrested earlier this year by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE).

Douglas Elmer Ray Barks, 34, will have his case return to court Aug. 5 in Nipawin.

Barks faces two counts of possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, and one count of making available that material. The ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Nipawin March 25 and seized and examined electronic devices.

Barks was arrested and charged May 21.
