Charter applications force delay of trial for Snowden murder case

With a number of charter applications being brought forward by a man accused of killing his severely ill wife, a scheduled trial has been pushed back another nine months.

Kevin Searcy is alleged responsible for the death of his wife, Diane, in Nov. 2024 in Snowden – a small community northeast of Prince Albert.

Diane had been suffering for years with dementia.

The previous December trial dates at Court of King’s Bench in Melfort have been vacated and replaced with a hearing to review the charter applications. The two week trial will now run Sept. 13 to 24, 2027.
