Two moose shooting cases under investigation

Conservation officers are asking the public’s help in solving two cases of moose being shot and left to waste.

The most recent incident involved a bull moose being shot on private land northeast of Alvena.

Officers attending the scene collected evidence and determined the animal was shot sometime between Aug. 14 to 17.

A similar event happened earlier in August west of Wakaw.

On Aug. 10, conservation officers received a tip reporting an unlawfully shot moose, which was largely left to waste with only some meat taken.

Officers believe the moose was harvested during the late evening of Aug. 6 or early the next morning.

A cash reward of up to $2000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the individuals in each case.
