One Player Can Make a Difference
The spectacle of the Riders 31-24 loss to the BC Lions gave us a team that didn’t seem to be on the same page.
One of the intangibles of championship teams is communication and chemistry and the Riders have lacked both over the last couple of months, bringing them to the brink of almost missing the playoffs.
For armchair GMs across the province, and I admit I fall into that category now and then, it seems obvious that injuries to key receivers forcing quarterback Trevor Harris to rely on very young Canadian receivers has led the Riders to this point.
The occasional breakdown in the defensive secondary leading to long receptions and touchdowns also fits into the injury category since the Riders are missing Tevaughn Campbell (likely back either next week or the week after against Montreal) and Rolan Milligan (out for the season).
