Acres for Education Fundraising Campaign

Oct 21, 2026 | 2:48 PM

Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan (AITC-SK) has launched its fourth annual fundraising campaign.

This year, JGL, a livestock agri-business, will match every dollar raised up to $35,000, helping even more Saskatchewan students experience agriculture firsthand.

Funds raised through Acres for Education help support AITC-SK’s programs that give students and teachers opportunities learn more about agriculture through classroom presentations, visits to farms and agri-businesses, and agricultural events.

Offered at no cost to teachers, these experiences spark curiosity, build understanding, and help students discover where their food comes from, the people behind it, and the possibilities agriculture holds for their future.

AITC-SK Executive Director Sara Shymko said every donation helps create an opportunity for a student to experience agriculture in a way they may never have otherwise.

“Whether it’s visiting a farm, meeting an agriculture professional or exploring how food makes its way from field to table, these experiences help students build a deeper understanding of agriculture and the important role it plays in their lives,” Shymko said.

Over the past three years, Acres for Education has raised more than $175,000, directly impacting more than 40,000 Saskatchewan students. In 2025 alone, donors contributed $43,250, with an additional $25,000 matched by JGL, helping more than 4,300 students experience a farm or agricultural event firsthand.

JGL CEO Shea Jameson said agriculture has provided opportunities for generations of Saskatchewan families.

“We’re proud to partner with Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan and support a campaign that helps students experience agriculture firsthand,” Jameson said. “By investing in agricultural education today, we build stronger connections to our industry for years to come.”

The campaign runs from Oct. 21 to Dec. 31. All donations will receive a charitable tax receipt.
