MFD responds to fire north of Beatty Sunday night

The Melfort Fire Department was called out to a fire north of Beatty Sunday night.

The department was called just before 10 p.m., and when they arrived, a large pile of brush was burning, with the wind carrying the ashes toward some dry grass and several structures.

Thankfully, crews were able to quickly douse the flames.
