Quill Lake student reports being approached by suspicious group

Jun 20, 2019 | 10:44 AM

The Wadena RCMP are investigating reports of a suspicious group of people approaching a student that was walking to school in Quill Lake.

On June 19, the student informed the school principal of the group that was driving an older green and grey van with tinted windows.

In a release from the Horizon School Division signed by Director of Education Kevin Garinger, the van matches the same description of a previous report of the same nature in another community.

The principal of the school notified the student’s caregivers and it was also reported to the RCMP.

The release also stated the school division would be taking measures to speak with children about safe behavior as it relates to strangers.

The public is asked to report any suspicious activity such as this or any details pertaining to the van involved in this incident to RCMP.
