Northeast Christian Fellowship continuing renovations of former Melfort Journal building
The Northeast Christian Fellowship church will continue renovations of the former Melfort Journal building throughout the summer and potentially beyond.
Other than some stoppage due to pulling metal out of the walls in early July, Pastor Paul Dubois said traffic on Main Street should flow through smoothly during renovations.
“That was a rare case,” Dubois told northeastNOW. “I don’t think there will be much that we’re going to be stopping traffic for in the future.”
Northeast Christian Fellowship received approval from Melfort council in August 2018 to purchase and use the former Melfort Journal building as a place of worship. They possessed the building in October of that year, began work on the interior in December, and started the full rebuild in January 2019.
