Keep Your Distance from Bear Traps

This year has seen an increase in bear calls across the province.

Bear traps are being set frequently, and SACO would like to remind people to keep your distance from the traps.

If you see that a trap has captured an animal, or if you see someone tampering with the trap, please call the local Ministry of Environment office or TIP line (1-800-667-7561).

Remember, we live in bear country and have to learn to live with wildlife.

You can do your part by keeping your yard or campsite clean and free of any attractants, such as garbage, bird feed, and dog food.
