Cottage owners urged to take think Fire Smart as season comes to a close
The summer months are now behind us.
With the changing of the season many people are now getting ready to close up their cottages and seasonal properties for the year.
Prince Albert National Park staff are advising cottage owners to remember to keep fire smart principles in mind as they close things up. Dustin Guedo, a parks ecologist with P.A. National Park said fire smarting a property involves specific maintenance.
“Making sure that their gutters and eves and vents are cleared of any material that’s accumulated there, any needles, twigs,” he said.
