RCMP investigate death at Candle Lake store
A thick line of yellow police tape surrounds a popular business in the Resort Village of Candle Lake, and questions continue to swirl within the small community over what transpired early Monday afternoon.
RCMP have been tight lipped about their investigation so far but confirmed for paNOW on Wednesday, the body of a 55-year-old man was found at a residence near the store. The name of the deceased has not been released by the RCMP, and an autopsy was scheduled to take place Wednesday in Saskatoon to determine the cause of death.
paNOW has learned the victim was Tom “Buck” Borson, the store’s manager. Store Owner Gord Cowan said Borson had been working at the store for nearly two years and was well liked.
“He got under people’s skin every once in a while but he wasn’t the type of guy that would hold a grudge or anybody would have any reason to really dislike him,” Cowan said.
