Who wants to be a millionaire?

One lucky person will become an instant millionaire this December, while also contributing to two organizations that support Saskatchewan’s youth.

The Touchdown for Kids Millionaire Lottery is expected to raise significant funds for both Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation.

“Tickets are only $75 each so it’s a really affordable lottery and the chances are really good to win that million dollars,” said Cindy Fuchs, executive director of the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation.

The mission of the foundation is to empower youth and communities through the passion of Rider Nation, supporting amateur sport, education and health and wellness initiatives.

“Some of our local amateur football teams will be recipients of some of the funds. KidSport and some other charities the Riders have worked with over the last few years that fit in to the pillars of the new foundation, one of them being children and health, will benefit and that’s where the hospital foundation fits in,” said Fuchs.

The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital opened its doors to patients in late September and the foundation is on a mission to raise funds for the enhancement of maternal and children’s healthcare in Saskatchewan.

“The proceeds from this exciting new lottery will help provide world-class equipment and new provincial maternal and pediatric programming connecting Saskatchewan to build healthier futures for our babies, children and families,” said Brynn Boback-Lane, president and CEO, in a statement.

In addition to one person becoming an instant millionaire, there are also 13 brand new vehicles to be won, six luxury vacation packages and 41 unique Roughrider experiences among other prizes. An early bird prize of $500,000 will also be awarded to one lucky person who purchases before Nov. 25. The final draw date is Dec. 19. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 1-844-574-5437.
